Residence through birth is issued only on the condition that the father of the child is an Emirati, and for children who are born in the UAE to foreign parents, temporary residence will be issued and will not be converted into permanent residence or citizenship of the UAE.
Permanent residence is given to the baby only if her parents are not known.
The UAE country follows the blood system in granting citizenship, and a child is not granted citizenship only by the birth of a child in the UAE. Unless the child’s parents are unknown. or that the child has an Emirati father or mother. Also, if a child is born to an unknown father and an Emirati mother, he will be granted UAE citizenship. Only in these cases, when a child is born in the UAE, he will be given the citizenship of the UAE.
